Folktales of Michinoku

Folktales of Michinoku are told in the regional dialect. “Michinoku” is the ancient name of the Tohoku region (Northeastern Japan).
This event is usually held on the 3rd Saturday of odd-numbered months.

Time : 14:00 ~ 14:30
Capacity : 30 participants (First come, first served)
Fee : the admission fee only
Story tellers : Michinoku Mukashi-gatari

The popular "Kominka Cafe," which previously opened for limited periods during spring and autumn, is making a brand-new debut as a "Food Truck" this autumn! We offer a menu perfect for relaxing between walks and tours around the museum. Please feel free to drop by!

Hours: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Last Order: 3:30 PM) *Closes when sold out
Location: Near the Main Building, Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum

Eating while walking, as well as eating/drinking inside the Main Building exhibition rooms or inside the historic folk houses, is not permitted.
Please use nearby benches in the museum grounds when enjoying your meals.
