Annual Event Exhibition “Jugoya”

Rice dumplings, taro potatoes and persimmons are offered to celebrate the “Mid-Autumn moon”.
On the day of “Jugoya”, the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, usually there is a full moon on the night sky.

Mini-Exhibition at Traditional Indigo Dyeing Workshop “Tie Dyeing – the Magic of Thread”

There is a variety of techniques for tie-dyeing, showing different expressions. Various techniques and artworks are exhibited.

Annual Event Exhibition “Higan”

The display for "Higan" conducted at the Kitamura House in Hadano city is reproduced.
Higan is a week-long seasonal event held in Japan each spring and autumn. It centers on the spring equinox and autumn equinox.

Annual Event Exhibition “The Summer Styled Interior in the Hara House”

In summer, the shoji (translucent paper sliding door) is replaced with sudo, a door made of fine bamboo strips allowing air to pass through, so that the room becomes airy and cool.
